Who we are

Jeddah Night ("we", "us") is a guide to restaurants, cafés, venues and events in Jeddah, available as a mobile app and at jeddahnight.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can delete it. Contact us any time at info@jeddahnight.com.

What we collect

  • Your account: your name and mobile number. If you sign in with Google or Apple, also the email address and (Google) profile photo that provider shares with us.
  • Location — only if you allow it: your device's precise location, used to show how far places are and what is nearby, to confirm you have arrived when you check in at a venue, and to estimate travel time for your bookings. You can turn location off in your phone's settings at any time; the app still works without it.
  • What you create: reviews and any photo you attach; saved plans, the friends you share them with and their replies; table reservations (the name, mobile number, party size and time you give the venue); check-ins, favourites, claimed deals and points.
  • Conversations with the AI concierge: the messages you send and the answers you receive.
  • Preferences: the interests and tastes you choose during onboarding or in Settings.
  • App activity: which places, events and pages you open and what you search for, linked to a random device identifier and to your account when you are signed in. We use it to personalise what you see (for example "For you" and Top 10).
  • Push notifications: a push token for your device, if you allow notifications.

We do not use advertising identifiers, we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell your personal data.

How we use it

To run your account and sign you in; to show places, events and deals relevant to you; to let you plan nights out with friends and book tables; to answer your questions in the concierge; to send the notifications you asked for (booking updates, plan replies, offers you can switch off); to keep the service safe, including reviewing reported content; and to understand how the app is used so we can improve it.

Who we share it with

  • Venues you book: the reservation details you enter go to that venue.
  • Friends you invite: a plan's owner sees the names and replies of the friends who respond; people with the plan's link see the plan itself.
  • AI providers (Anthropic, DeepSeek, OpenAI): to answer you, the concierge sends them the text of your message, the interests on your profile and, if you have allowed it, your location. It never sends your name or mobile number. The app asks for your consent before your first message.
  • Sign-in providers: Google Firebase (phone verification), Meta WhatsApp (delivering your one-time code), Google and Apple (if you choose to sign in with them).
  • Service providers: OneSignal (push notifications), Google Maps (maps, distances and travel time), Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports: what the app was doing when it failed, the device model and system version — no messages or location), and our hosting provider. They process data only on our behalf.
  • The law: when we are legally required to, under applicable Saudi law.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account we delete your profile, reviews and photos, plans, concierge conversations, favourites, check-ins, points, preferences and activity history. Past reservations stay with the venue as a booking record, without your name or mobile number. Residual copies in encrypted backups are cleared within 30 days.

Your choices and rights

  • Delete your account in the app: Settings (the gear icon) ▸ Delete account. It takes effect immediately. If you can no longer sign in, email us and we will verify and delete it.
  • Access or correct your data: edit your name and preferences in the app, or email us for a copy of your data.
  • Control permissions: location, notifications, camera, photos and microphone can each be turned off in your phone's settings.
  • Report content: any review or concierge answer can be reported from the app; our team reviews reports.

Children

Jeddah Night is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and sign-in data on your phone is kept in the device's secure storage.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and show the date of the latest version at the top.
